Everything around me is bathed in a greyish twilight, as if the world has lost it’s colour.
The contours of objects appear blurred, indistinct, like in a dream. But this is no ordinary dream. I’m perfectly conscious, more lucid even than in my waking state.
Gradually, I watch my limbs materialize. First vaporous and translucent, they slowly become more solid, though still of a strange consistency, as if formed from condensed mist.
Once my misty body fully reconstitutes, I discover I can move freely around the room.
Driven by curiosity mixed with apprehension, I approach the closed door. Taking a deep breath – more from habit than necessity, as I realize I don’t need to breathe in this state – I pass through the door.
To my great surprise, I find myself not in the familiar corridor of my house, but in a completely different space.
It’s a long corridor with white walls, lit by a soft light whose source I cannot identify. Two identical doors stand before me, one on the right, the other on the left. They seem to call to me, each promising a unique experience.
Without really knowing why, I opt for the right one. No sooner have I crossed its threshold than the environment changes dramatically. Vivid colors explode around me, so intense they almost hurt my eyes, which had accustomed to the dimness.
I now find myself in the middle of an immense field, bordered in the distance by majestic forests. The grass beneath my bare feet is brilliantly green, soft and slightly damp with dew. Each blade seems to vibrate with life, as if I’m rediscovering contact with the earth for the first time…
